Christmas Cookie Thumbprints

These Christmas Cookie Thumbprints are easy to make and perfect for the holiday season. The buttery and tender cookies are filled with colorful jam, making them a delightful treat for your festive gatherings.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup assorted jam such as raspberry, strawberry, or apricot

Instructions:

Warm your oven up to 350F 175C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet

Melt the butter and mix it with the sugar in a bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy

Mix in the salt and vanilla extract until everything is well mixed

Add the flour a little at a time and mix it in until the dough comes together

Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and set them on the baking sheet that has been floured

Make a hole in the middle of each dough ball with your thumb or the back of a spoon

Put some of your favorite jam in each hole

After the oven is hot, bake the cookies for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown

After taking the cookies out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before moving them to a wire rack to cool all the way

After the cookies have cooled, you can add some powdered sugar to them to make them look more holiday-like
